Derek Jeter had 2 base hits at the ballpark as the Jefferson Park Penguins
beat the Dart Weasels by the count of 4 to 3.
J.C. Romero(1-1) came through for Steve Seydell with an excellent relief
stint. He went 2 and 1/3 innings surrendering no hits and 1 walk reducing
his ERA from 3.49 to 3.23. Dart threatened in the 9th but their rally came
up short.
Troy Percival earned the save, his 3rd. Scott Linebrink(2-3) took the loss in
relief. John Callanan was in a contemplative mood after the tough loss, 'It
is really hard to lose this kind of a game. It may seem weird to some, but
it is easier to take the occasional blow-out loss. It is the ones that just
barely get away that hurt so much - like this one!'
